Tennis Travels to Waterloo, Iowa for Two Matches

MACOMB, Ill. - The Western Illinois women's tennis team travels to Waterloo, Iowa on Friday (Mar. 1) to battle the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at noon on Friday and then face Northern Iowa on Saturday (Mar. 2) at 11 a.m.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee comes in with a (5-5) record in duel matches so far this season. Northern Iowa is (2-2) in such matches.

Last time out the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers defeated Chicago and Bradley by scores of 6-1 last weekend. The Panthers of Northern Iowa lost to South Dakota State last Saturday (Feb. 24) 4-3, but won on Sunday against Green Bay 5-0.

The matches this weekend will take place in Waterloo, Iowa at the Black Hawk Tennis Club.

"We're looking forward to seeing how we match up with two fine teams this weekend," said third-year head coach Chris Kane. "Both are very strong teams. We'll try to get better day by day."

Complete results will be made available at the conlcusion of each match this weekend. The Leathernecks will be in action after this weekend in Kansas City, Missouri starting on Thursday (Mar. 14) against Fort Wayne.
