Terriun Crump, Josh Hudson Earn MVFC Honors

MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois senior wide receiver Terriun Crump (Country Club Hills/College of DuPage) and junior quarterback Josh Hudson (Yuba City, Calif./College of Siskiyous) were honored by the Missouri Valley Football Conference on Sunday (Oct. 2) for their performance in the Leathernecks' win over Southern Illinois. Crump was selected 'Offensive Player of the Week' while Hudson earned the 'Newcomer of the Week' award.

It marks the first MVFC honor, respectively, for both Leathernecks.

Crump recorded 163 yards on five receptions, the second-highest yardage game of his career, and matched a career-high of two touchdowns in the 27-21 win over the 12th-ranked Salukis. His second TD catch, and 100th reception of his career, came on the 77-yard TD reception with 26 seconds left to secure the win. It marks his fourth 100-yard receiving game this season and seventh of his career (one off the all-time record).

Hudson set career-highs with 20-of-30 passing for 307 yards and four TD passes in the victory. His yardage marked the first time in a span of nine games a Leatherneck quarterback threw for 300-plus yards in a game (Matt Barr at SIU in 2010).

He directed two scoring drives that covered at least 76 yards but needed less than 40 seconds each to score.

In two home games, Hudson has completed 68 percent of his passes for 522 yards and seven TDs with no interceptions. Crump caught 12 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns.

Western will take the week off before returning to conference play on October 15th at Indiana State.
