Dick Abbot,1987 - Dick was head track and cross country coach from 1958-1968. Western enjoyed tremendous success under Coach Abbot, and in one stretch had 27 consecutive dual-meet wins. From 1964-68, he was a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee and in 1967 he was manager of the U.S. Track and Field Team at the Pan American Games.
