1976-77 Badminton Team
The 1976-77 Women's Badminton Team set the standard for Leatherneck athletics nationally. The squad finished third in the nation, going 50-7 overall. They finished in the top eight finishes in the national singles and doubles tournament. The team was represented at the National Tournament by Nancy Stark, Monica Malone, Sandy Szopinski and Laurie Hoge.
The squad won the IAIAW State Tournament.
The team was led by Hoge, who was the was singles state tournament champion and Stark, who teamed with Hoge to capture the state doubles championship.
Players include Laurie Hoge, Nancy Stark, Sandy Szopinski, Monica Malone, Wendy Justus, Cheryl Douglas, Debra Knight, Gail Ross Thyer and Denise Zeman. The team was led by coach Donna Phillips.
