Johnson Inks Three To Men’s Soccer Program

Takuma Sadlow, Christian Junna and Thomas Hollis to join the Leathernecks.

MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois University's Director of Soccer Dr. Eric Johnson announced the signing of three new additions to the Leatherneck men's soccer program in Takuma Sadlow, Christian Junna and Thomas Hollis.

"We are very pleased with our incoming group for 2018," said Johnson. "We are fortunate to add Tacuma Sadlow, Christian Junna and Thomas Hollis to our roster next fall. Tacuma is a left-sided player who can play in the back or at midfield. He has great pace and is a gifted 1-on-1 defender that can get forward from deep positions. Christian can play anywhere in the backline. He can help us in all of those positions and Thomas can play wide, in the back or at midfield on either side. They both provide us with that immediate depth and will compete for playing time this fall."

Sadlow joins the Leathernecks after previously playing at Illinois Central College. A native of St. George, Trinidad and Tobago, he prepped for Success Laventille Secondary School, where he was the team captain. He helped the school to its first-ever division title, along with being named to Most Valuable Player honors.  He is also a two-time Athletic Director's list honoree, as well as a recipient of the Dean's list. As a junior transfer to Western Illinois, he plans to pursue his degree in economics.

Junna comes to the Leathernecks as a teammate of Sadlow at Illinois Central College, where he is recently coming off all-conference honors in 2017. A native of Canberra, Australia, Junna was also a three-time President's List recipient at ICC, and even scored a penalty kick goal to help send the school to a national tournament berth. He plans to pursue his degree in exercise science at Western.

Lastly, Hollis joined the Leathernecks as a mid-year transfer in the spring of 2018, from Marshall University. A native of Houston, Texas, Hollis prepped at Langham Creek High School, where he served as the team captain. The sophomore transfer joins the Leathernecks as a defender, and plans to pursue a degree in marketing at Western Illinois.
