Former WIU Men's Basketball Star Coleman Carrodine Passes Away

The Western Illinois University men's basketball standout scored the second most points ever in program history

MACOMB, Ill. - Former Western Illinois University men's basketball standout and WIU Athletics Hall of Fame member Coleman Carrodine passed away on Tuesday (July 11) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois at the age of 76. Carodine played for the men's basketball team from 1961-64.

Carrodine finished his career with 2,128 points, second most in program history. In three of his four playing seasons he finished with more than 555 points (585, 555, 555), and his 22.0 points per game average during the 1963-64 season is the second best in program history. His name is scattered throughout the WIU men's hoops record book in several other 'Top 10' categories as well.
