Steckler Captures Her First Career League 'Offensive Player Of The Week' Award

Mackenzie Steckler logged 10 kill along with a hitting percentage of .692 to earn her the award.

ELMHURST, Ill.- Western Illinois volleyball player Mackenzie Steckler garnered The Summit League 'Offensive Player of the Week' honor, the league office announced (Nov. 6).

Steckler earned her first-career honor for her performance against South Dakota (Nov. 4). The middle hitter recorded 10 kills on 13 total attacks for a spectacular hitting percentage of .692. She also notched two service aces in the four-set match and defensively, recorded five total blocks.

The Leathernecks return home for the final three matches of the season. Western returns to its home slate with a contest against Fort Wayne on Nov. 7 before wrapping up the weekend with North Dakota State on Nov. 10 and Denver on Nov. 12.
