MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois men's basketball head coach Billy Wright announced the fourth member of the Leathernecks' 2015 signing class Tuesday afternoon (May 12) in Jordan Hughes (Schaumburg, Ill./James B. Conant)

"At 6-foot-10, 235 pounds, Jordan adds size and depth to our front line. He has a great attitude, a tremendous work ethic, and gives us a solid low post presence at both ends of the floor. I'm confident that our strength and conditioning program will increase his overall power and agility," said Wright about Hughes. "Jordan is a solid young man who is regarded as humble, hard working, and a team player; someone who will only get better and who fits our All-In philosophy."

The newest Leatherneck averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks as a senior. In his high school team's 2015 regional championship victory, Hughes scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and recorded five blocks and was named the team's 'Most Improved Player'.

"I really liked the coaching staff and the players," said Hughes in regards to signing with Western Illinois. "They are giving me a great opportunity to get my degree, win championships, and extend my career as a player. I'm excited to get down there and work on improving as a player and a person."

Hughes is undecided academically. He joins guard De'Angelo "Delo" Bruster, who signed this past fall, and forward James Claar and center Brandon Gilbeck who signed earlier this spring.
