Men's Tennis Adds Patrick Anderson to Fighting Leatherneck Family

Anderson signs National Letter of Intent and will join the Purple and Gold during the fall of 2016

MACOMB, Ill. – Head men's tennis coach Mashiska Washington announced the signing of Patrick Anderson (Racine, Wisconsin/St. Catherine's) Wednesday (Nov. 18) for the 2016-17 season.
 
A No. 1 singles player and four-year member of the St. Catherine's High School varsity team, Anderson has been tabbed to the first team All-Racine County and All-Metro Conference honors four times. He has qualified for the Wisconsin State Tennis Tournament for the past three years. In 2014, Anderson was the USTA Jr. Team Tennis State Champion.
 
"Patrick is excited about attending Western Illinois University," said Washington. "We believe that he has the potential to impact our tennis team in a positive way and contribute to our overall success. Patrick has been a positive addition to our tennis program."
 
The Racine, Wisconsin, native has been one of the top youth players in the state, ranking in the top 15 of every group since he was eight years old. Since he was 11, Anderson has earned a 'Top 120' Midwest ranking and has been a USTA Midwest Closed Level 1 Tournament qualifier for eight consecutive years.
 
Anderson has been a team captain for two years and has earned the St. Catherine's 'Outstanding Athlete Award' all four years. He will graduate in the spring of 2016 and will join the Leatherneck family in the fall.
