Wright Announces Addition of C.J. Duff and Jeremiah Usiosefe

Both student-athletes will graduate this spring and officially join the team for the 2016-17 season.

MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois men's basketball head coach Billy Wright announced the addition of two guards to the Fighting Leatherneck family in C.J. Duff (Waukegan, Illinois/Carmel) and Jeremiah Usiosefe (Hamilton, Ontario/The Hill Academy). Both student-athletes will graduate this spring and officially join the team for the 2016-17 season.

Duff, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound guard was tabbed All-State Honorable Mention, All-East Suburban Catholic Conference and Lake County News-Sun All Area First Team after averaging 21 points, six rebounds and three assists per game at Carmel High School his junior year.

"C.J. is a combo guard who brings great shooting ability, strength, and a passion for the game. He committed to us prior to his junior year in high school and was truly "All In" from day one," said Wright.

During Duff's junior season he also earned a spot on the Jacob's Holiday All-Tournament team after setting a tournament record by scoring 139 points (27.8 points per game).

"C.J. comes from a great family with family values that mirror Western Illinois University's and our basketball program's core values. C.J. is a solid young man, who has performed well in the classroom, in the community, and on the basketball court. I am really excited about his potential and to add him to our basketball family," continued Wright.

Usiosefe, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound guard, is currently a student-athlete at The Hill Academy in Toronto, Ontario and recently played for the UPLAY AAU program.

"I am very excited to add Jeremiah to our basketball family. Jeremiah brings great shooting ability, tremendous size, and a high basketball IQ. He is capable of having an immediate impact for us at both ends of the floor," said Wright.

Usiosefe is averaging 18 points, five rebounds and two assists per game as a senior while is shooting 49 percent from the field.

"Jeremiah and his family were very impressed with our campus, our academic structure, and our basketball program's family environment. Jeremiah is a solid young man who demonstrates the level of maturity & responsibility necessary to be successful on and off the court. He definitely fits our University's core values and our program's "All In" philosophy."
